The event emphasizes collaborative presentations and aligns with the theme “INNOVATE FOR FUTURE COMMUNITY.” The World Youth STEM Invention Innovation 2026 will take place from 29 January to 2 February 2026 at Al-Meroz Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, offering onsite participation with options for accommodation, tours, and immersive learning experiences to celebrate global STEM talent.
Eligibility and Qualification:
Open to Malaysian and international participants. Each group/entry must consist of at least one participant and no more than six participants per entry/team (maximum 5 students + 1 supervisor/mentor teacher). Participants must select a domain from the listed scientific fields (e.g., Physical Sciences & Applied Chemistry, Life Sciences & Health, Engineering & Technology, etc.), with no restrictions on field selection. Must adhere to the competition theme “INNOVATE FOR FUTURE COMMUNITY.” Must prepare original content (no plagiarism) and cite sources. Projects must follow ethical practices, and demonstrations must not pose hazards or risks of injury.
Competition Level:
Kindergarten/ Primary- (4-11) Years old
Secondary: Form 1 to Form 5 (K7-K11), SVM Certificate Level, Ages 16-17 years.
College/University: Matriculation/Form 6, A Level, KV Diploma Students, IPG Students, Foundation, First Degree.
Teacher/Lecturer/Educator: KPM/MRSM/ANY SCHOOLS Teacher, IPG/College Lecturer, University Lecturer, any lecturer position in the tertiary education sector.
Education Officer/Administration Team: KPM/Bahagian/JPN/PPD/IPG, open to any administrative and management positions within educational institutions.
Researcher/Fellow: Masters or PhD holders who have not yet established a significant level of independence, and researchers with an equivalent level of experience and competence.
Competition Format:
Language:
English (assumed based on materials and international nature).
Part A: E-Poster – Prepare one A1 portrait e-poster (594×841 mm or 1080×1920 px, saved as PDF ≤10 MB) in scientific/innovation format including Title & Team, Abstract, Problem Statements, Objective, Method/Prototype, Results/Data, Innovation/Uniqueness, Impact/SDGs, Key References. Use clear headings, readable fonts (≥24 pt), simple charts/figures, and cite sources. File name: School_Team_ProjectTitle_EP.pdf. Worth 30 points.
Part B: Presentation – 10-minute live presentation in a closed conference room session, followed by Q&A with judges. Use LCD projector, stand banner, and table for showcase/demonstration. No pre-recorded videos as primary content (supporting videos allowed). No internet-dependent formats recommended. Bring project materials for demonstration (within time limit, no hazards). Presentation slides submitted in advance. Worth 70 points. Projects must address real-world problems with innovative solutions in chosen STEM fields.

- Physical Sciences & Applied Chemistry: Physics, chemistry, material science, nanotechnology, experimental innovation (e.g., self-healing materials, solar-reactive coatings, chemical-based water testing kits).
- Life Sciences & Health: Biology, medical innovation, biotechnology, disease prevention, public health, mental well-being (e.g., portable diagnostic kits, anti-bacterial herbal products, smart health trackers).
- Engineering & Technology: Mechanical, civil, electrical, or systems engineering; robotics and hardware (e.g., smart irrigation systems, automated sorting machines, prosthetic designs).
- Computing, AI & Digital Innovation: Software, mobile apps, AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, cybersecurity (e.g., learning apps, AI trash classifiers, smart home sensors). Education, Best Practices,
- Psychology & Social Innovation: Improving education/learning methods, inclusive education, emotional development, social challenges (e.g., digital therapy tools, inclusive learning kits, youth mental health apps).
- Environmental Science & Sustainability: Climate action, conservation, green energy, waste management, sustainable ecosystems (e.g., biodegradable packaging, water filtration systems, eco-friendly farming).
- Robotics & Drones: Mechanical/programming systems, UAVs (e.g., rescue robots, robotic arms, drones for agriculture, aerial mapping, package delivery systems). Field selection is open and not limited by organizers.
Award Criteria:
Judging based on: Problem Statement and Innovation (uniqueness, creativity, relevance); Scientific/Technical Rigor (research evidence, data); Clarity and Communication (logical structure, engagement); Technical Feasibility (sustainability, ethics, market potential, scalability); Presentation Skills (confidence, knowledge, teamwork). Medals and certificates awarded (gold, silver, bronze, etc., based on performance). Top projects recognized during the awarding ceremony. All participants receive medals and certificates as part of packages.
